Farmers in Ondo state have been advised to go into large scale cassava farming in order to meet the expected massive demand of Cassava to Ethanol industry which would soon begin operations in the state.

The State governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu dropped the hint at Igbara-Oke, the headquarters of Ifedore Local Government area while interfacing with the people during his thank-you-visit to the council area.

The governor specifically said all available cassava in the state can never be enough to serve the Ethanol industry located at Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government area of the state.

Akeredolu explained that by the time the industry fully takes off, it would need a large quantity of cassava, which would also improve the economy of cassava farmers and the state at large.

He, therefore, called on farmers in the state to go into large scale production of cassava which would, in turn, generate high incomes to farmers.
