In furtherance of its desire towards combining relaxation with excitement as well as enriching the value of citizens’ social life, the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) in conjunction with Arial View Nigeria Limited has rolled out series of delightful shows at some of the State-owned parks for the citizens’ pleasure.

The weeklong event, which began on Thursday 2nd of May, 2019 at Rafiu Jafojo Recreational Park, Shasha and Ebute-Iga Park, Ikorodu, is tagged “Monster Fiesta”.

The programme, planned to be staged at all the State-owned recreational parks across Lagos, is designed to promote a sequence of interactive shows where numerous fun seekers and other social enthusiasts would have the prospect of exploring the quality of nature for memorable viewing experience.

The Head Public Affairs Unit of LASPARK, Mr. Sanusi Abdulateef, who disclosed this at a joint meeting with the representatives of Arial View, stated that the activation of these activities at the various parks is a way of connecting citizens to the abundance of creative and indigenous vibes that are lacking in our lifestyle.

“Aside using the exciting league of renowned footballing nations to encourage citizens to visit the parks regularly, it is one of the many exquisite approaches the State government is adapting to engage the citizen, particularly the youth, on the relevance of investing their leisure periods on activities that are worthwhile rather than engaging in social vices”, he affirmed.

The Agency Spokesman pointed out that creating a web of enticing activities around parks through the Public-Private Partnership strategy is an affirmation of government’s resolve to continuously connect everyone to the best of social experience, irrespective of age and location and establish a sense of companionship among its diverse citizens.

He added that the hosting of these series of events at the parks is possible because of the solid security structure and other top-notch facilities that the locations possess, adding that the ambience of these parks offers the most hospitable appearance for pleasure and memorable events which the citizens must exploit.

In his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer, Arial View Nigeria Limited, Mr. Rotimi Pitan described the initiative as a way of creatively utilising parks to promote social development and re-energise the profound fondness inherent in every individual for the betterment of society.

According to him, the serene conditions of the various state-owned Parks has made them a potential hotspot for exquisite fanfare for both young and old.

“Engaging in outdoor activities and interacting with people particularly at a serene atmosphere like parks is a good form of social therapy which in turn improves life expectancy”, Rotimi declared.

“Presently, these parks have been upgraded with facilities to show live football matches, from the English Premiership to Laliga to the UEFA Champions League and Europa League Matches where fans and supporters of different football clubs assemble to savour thrilling encounters involving their favourite teams and also win lots of exciting prizes”, he noted.

He promised that the event would feature lots of fascinating activities which include outdoor movies, drone racing, basketball and football tournaments, video board games, open MIC contest and other side attractions, imploring Lagosians not be left out of the weeklong fiesta.
