On Telemundo (GOtv channel 14) this month, the story of an ordinary girl in the big city continues in Betty in New York every weekday at 7 pm. After being rejected for multiple jobs, a young Hispanic woman living in New York City accepts a position which is far below her qualifications in the fashion industry. As she gradually finds herself in this new world, she will also have to face the greatest challenge of her life, which is love.
The concluding episode of season one of False Identity will be broadcast on Monday, 5 August at 9 pm. An armed confrontation leaves Corona badly wounded and Mateo vowing revenge. Can Isabel and Diego assume new identities and escape with the children? False Identity follows the story of Isabel and Diego, two complete strangers, who assume the identity of a dead American tourist and his wife in order to escape their pasts in Sonora.

Top black entertainment channel, BET (GOtv channel 21) is packed with an exciting line-up of movies and series this month. In The Next Big Thing, up-and-coming musical artists are subjected to a development boot camp, where they are given access to top vocal coaches, trainers, choreographers, writers, producers, and glam squads to advance their careers. Follow their progression on the programme, starting from Thursday, 1 August at 8 pm.
Then, Mary Jane Paul and her fans will get the closure they wanted, albeit with some heartbreak, tears and a new-born along the way in the season finale of Being Mary Jane, showing on Sunday, 4 August at 7 pm.
Starting from Wednesday, 7 August at 8:30 pm, the joy of 13 intending brides will multiply as each of them is given the opportunity to choose a wedding dress of their dreams in a new reality wedding show, Two Families and a Wedding Dress.
Still showing this month on BET (GOtv channel 21), movie buffs will be thrilled by the action movie, Bad Boys, on Sunday, 11 August at 7 pm. The plot thickens as two hip detectives protect a witness to a murder while investigating a case of stolen heroin from the evidence storage room from their police precinct. The movie stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.
For GOtv customers with an interest in documentaries, CBS Reality (GOtv channel 22) presents Donal Macintyre’s Murder Files, showing on Monday, 12 August at 8:10 pm. Donal Macintyre, a renowned undercover reporter and crime journalist, examines the most horrific and fascinating crimes, interviewing first-hand, the men and women who ensured justice was done. Meanwhile, on Monday, 12 August on Nat Geo Wild (GOtv channel 47) at 12:15 pm, watch as the old elephant matriarch, Mensah must now take her young calf and the herd to safety after the tragic death of her mother in Elephant Queen. Then at 1:50 pm the same day, three elephant families struggle to overcome adversity as they migrate for food and safety in An Elephant’s World.
The kids have also a galaxy of shows to keep them happy on their return from summer classes and during the weekend. One of such programmes is Jojo’s Dream Birthday, which airs on Saturday, 10 August at 11:55 pm on Nickelodeon (GOtv channel 62). Join Jojo from the moment she wakes up, as she embarks on the most epic 24 hours of her life, filled with super special guests, big surprises, and a birthday party she’ll never forget.
Kiddies will also get to enjoy the award-winning series, Badanamu Cadets. It will be broadcast on Monday, 12 August at 5:30 pm on Jim Jam (GOtv channel 61). Bada and his fellow cadets as they battle against the forces of darkness, keeping the world of Badanamu safe. New opponents devoted to mischief and destruction emerge from the dark forests beyond Wonder wood, and it will take all the cadets’ bravery and careful thinking to stop them.
Beret clad dog, Claude, returns this month, as Claude and Sir Bobblysock mind Denzel Pedal’s van but try a bit too hard to sell a job lot of kites and end up attracting a different type of flyer. It will be aired on weekends throughout August, starting from Saturday, 3 August at noon on Disney Junior (GOtv channel 60)
Fred Rogers hosts Mister Rogers’ Neighbourhood, a thoughtful children’s show, treats kids like intelligent people who deserve programming just as good as that for adults. The educational programme airs on Friday, 30 August at 11:10 am on PBS Kids (GOtv channel 65).
