The Nigerian bourse today (Tuesday) closed on a positive note as the All-Share-Index appreciated by 0.34% to sustain previous positive sentiment to three consecutive trading day. The uptrend was supported by value appreciation on some bellwether stocks like MTNN, ZENITHBANK, BUACEMENT and 24 others.

Consequently, the market breadth closed on a positive note, recording 27 losers as against 9 gainers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 86.63 absolute points, representing a growth of 0.34% to close at 25,413.76 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size gained N45.20 billion, representing an increase of 0.34% to close at N13.26 trillion.

LIVESTOCK emerged as the top gainer while WAPIC emerged as the top loser.

The upturn was impacted by gains recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; ETI (+6.41), NB (+5.41), UBA (+4.80%) JAPAULOIL (+4.76%) ACCESS (+3.23%), FBNH (+3.06%) WAPCO (+2.09%), ZENITHBANK (0.60%), GUARANTY (+0.39%), BUACEMENT (+0.25) and MTNN (+0.17%).

The Naira at the official window today (Tuesday) closed at 379.00/$1, unchanged against the previous day’s position.

The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N386.03, traded high at N386.00, and eventually closed at N386.00, representing a 0.09% depreciation against the previous day’s closing position. A total of $14.37 million was transacted through the I&E window today.

MONEY MARKET

Overnight(O/N) rate today (Tuesday) closed at 6.38%, representing a 5.75% depreciation against the previous day’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 5.75%, representing a 3.35% depreciation against the previous day’s position.

NASD OTC MARKET

The NASD OTC market today (Tuesday) closed as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) closed at 709.45, representing a 0.24% depreciation against the previous day’s closing position. Similarly, Market Capitalization shed N1.25 million closed at N521.14 billion, representing a 0.24% depreciation against the previous day’s closing position. However, the aggregate volume and value increased by 558.11% and 159.95% respectively, as investors traded a total of 49,753 shares, worth N2.38 in 7 deal.
