The local bourse today (Friday) closed its last transactions for the week on a positive note, as bargain-hunting on 31 medium and large capitalized stocks added N144.87 billion to market capitalization value. As a result, market breadth strengthened to 2.98x, recording 31 gainers as against 11 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) gained 277.25 absolute points, representing an increase of 0.90% to close at 31,016.17 points, Likewise, the overall Market Capitalization value also gained N144.87 billion, representing an increase of 0.90% to close at N16.206 trillion.

ETI emerged top of the gainers’ table today, while MANSARD emerged top of the gainers’ chart.

The uptrend was impacted by gains recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; ETI (+9.80%), TRANSCORP (+8.97%),  CHIPLC (+8.82%), WEMABANK (+6.67%), FBNH (+6.20%), DANGSUGAR (+6.11%) GUINNESS (+5.74%), GUARANTY (+3.72%), UCAP (+3.70%), DANGCEM  (+3.25%), and ACCESS (+3.25%).

However, the Volume and Value total trades today rose by 5,559.81% and 11,860.74% compared to the prior session position to settle at 332,627 and N95.15 million respectively, in 8 deals.
