President Buhari should write to the chairman of Pfizer today offering the following partnership deal
- Nigeria is willing to offer Pfizer land to build a factory that will produce 100m doses of this new coronavirus vaccine annually.
- In conjunction with Air Peace, Nigeria is offering to distribute the vaccine across the African continent.
- Nigeria’s federal government will take out a stake in a joint venture between Innoson Motors and Pfizer that will manufacture medical equipment to combat the coronavirus including ventilators, syringes, oxygen tents, test kits, etc
- Nigeria will offer Pfizer a 99-year land lease to build another factory to manufacture any other drugs it wishes to make and market across Africa
- As part of this deal, the Nigerian government will be procuring 50m doses of the coronavirus vaccine in 2020 that shall be distributed free to members of the public
- Nigeria’s health ministry is willing to enter into a partnership with Pfizer to establish 36 coronavirus testing centres across the country
- Nigeria’s federal government is willing to take out a 20% stake in a subsidiary to be known as Pfizer Africa that will distribute drugs, vaccines and medical equipment across our continent
- Nigeria is prepared to establish a tropical coronavirus re-convalescence centre where those recovering from the virus in temperate climes can come and recuperate. It appears that the virus is not so virulent in the tropics, so a Pfizer Tropical Reconvalesence Centre in Nigeria could be a novel way of combating it
- Nigeria is prepared to part-fund a special pharmaceutical training scheme in conjunction with Pfizer to produce an extra 5,000 pharmacists a year. Nigeria will meet 50% of the costs at such a special training institution
- Nigeria will introduce a special druG ingredients programme to produce raw materials for Pfizer so the company can source cheap and abundant medicinal plants for its pharmaceuticals
