It signals the triumph of hope over gloom and affirms a vision of an African reimagined where Africa’s Youth will bring a better and brighter tomorrow.”

Actress Charlize Theron honoured the Peer Educator of the Year which was awarded to Nomvuyo Bhengu. The Peer Educator thanked Charlize and the foundation for the honour commenting

“The reason I became a peer educator is because I wanted to teach young people inside and outside my community about life’s challenges and give them advice on how to overcome those challenges. Being selected for this award means a lot to me and means that I was able to achieve all my aims when I became a Peer Educator.

So many young people’s lives have been destroyed because they have no one to turn to, especially the ones coming from disadvantaged homes. This program has been impactful because it’s helped so many young blood face different issues”.
