The Registrar/Chief Executive, APCON, Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, gave the new fellows a charge:

“I am optimistic that with the status that comes with your elevation in the advertising industry, you will diligently represent the profession in all progressive ramifications and resourcefully promote the best interest of the profession,

Lanre  Adisa, the CEO of Noah’s Ark said this event “will always remain cherished in my memory. Not just for the fact that I was inducted as a Fellow of the Nigerian advertising practice, but more for the fact that I had the rare privilege of being decorated by two industry legends Chief Odunsi and Dr Biodun Shobanjo.

Dr. Larry Izamoje, Chairman of Brilla Sports FM, saw his APCON induction as a clarion call to strive to pivot continuously to stay relevant in a rapidly changing marketplace.

It’s not all rosy for Nigeria’s N150 billion advertising industry.

Though the statistics have not been updated, it is estimated that advertising and marketing expenditures in Nigeria currently stand at around N150 billion.

Such impressive figures do not necessarily translate to a rosy picture for the Nigerian advertising industry. Many advertising agencies are struggling and facing a triple revolution- rising clients’ and consumer expectations, new digital marketing platforms, and sweeping technology trends.

APCON and the other two main advertising bodies in Nigeria AAAN and ADVAN will need all the talents and resources at their disposal to bring the good new days into Nigeria’s advertising terrain.
