Samsung Unveils The Galaxy A53 5G And Galaxy A33 5G

During its first event of the year, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A53 5G and Galaxy A33 5G. These smartphones succeed the Galaxy A52 5G and Galaxy A32 5G, both of which were released a year ago. When compared to their predecessors, the Galaxy A33 and Galaxy A53 both receive significant updates in key areas.

The Galaxy A33 5G, in particular, has received significant upgrades, making it very similar to the Galaxy A53 5G. In this article, we’ll go over everything you need to know about both smartphones, including specifications, features, pricing, and availability.

To begin, both smartphones have a similar design – with minor differences. They both have protruding rear camera bumps that house quad-camera sensors.

The Galaxy A33 5G is, as expected, slightly smaller than the Galaxy A53 5G. It has dimensions of 159.7 x 74.0 x 8.1mm and weighs only 186g. In comparison, the Galaxy A53 5G measures 159.9 x 74.7 x 8.1mm and weighs 189g.

Both smartphones have distinct front-facing camera designs. The Galaxy A33 5G has a water-drop notch, whereas the Galaxy A53 has a punch-hole camera. Both phones are water and dust resistant to IP67 standards, which is quite impressive for a mid-range smartphone.

The Galaxy A33 has a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display, while the Galaxy A53 has a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED + Full HD display. The 120Hz display refresh rate on the Galaxy A53 takes it a step further. In comparison, the Galaxy A33 5G has a display refresh rate of 90Hz.

Although both smartphones have a quad-camera setup with a main sensor, ultra-wide sensor, depth sensor, and macro sensor on the tray, the quality is vastly different. The rear camera tray on the Galaxy A33 5G consists of a 48-megapixel sensor (with f/1.8 aperture), an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor (with f/2.2 aperture), a 2-megapixel depth sensor (with f/2.4 aperture), and a 5-megapixel macro sensor. In addition, there’s a 13-megapixel water-drop camera on the front.

The Galaxy A53 5G, on the other hand, has a massive 64-megapixel main sensor (with an f/1.8 aperture), a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor (with an f/2.2 aperture), a 5-megapixel depth sensor (with an f/2.4 aperture), and a 5-megapixel macro lens.

Cost and Availability

The Galaxy A33 and A53 will be available in retail stores on April 1st, with suggested retail prices of $410 and $500, respectively.
