Toyota has issued a news release announcing the world premiere of a new Toyota GR sports car. This event will take place on Thursday, March 31 at 9:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.
This will be the fourth Toyota product to wear the Gazoo Racing badge. It will join the Supra, GR86, and GR Yaris in Toyota’s performance lineup.
The press release does not say which Toyota model will be next to receive a GR variant. It also does not provide a name for the new GR sports car. But a GR Corolla has been widely anticipated for a while now.
In fact, Toyota recently teased a quick look at a new GR hatchback in a GR86 video a few weeks ago, with many viewers surmising that it is a GR Corolla.
This new GR sports car will likely have all-wheel drive mated to a version of the power plant found in the GR Yaris. Unlike the GR Yaris, this new GR sports car will be available for sale in the United States.
