HumanSquad, a Nigerian startup that automates immigration requests and processes, has received undisclosed pre-seed funding. Tunde Omotoye, the company’s co-founder and CEO, revealed the ‘six-figure’ pre-seed investment was led by Calm Fund.
In addition to the funding, HumanSquad claims to be receiving invaluable support from Calm Fund’s strong network of other founders and VCs.
The fundraising came exactly two years after the company’s June 2020 launch. According to Omotoye, the funding would allow the company to move more effectively in all areas critical to its success.
Omotoye announced the funding on Twitter, saying, “The past two years have been filled with incredible progress.” We’ve been developing additional sub-products under
HumanSquad (the parent company) is hiring, gaining recognition in Canada’s startup ecosystem, and preparing to ship a study abroad product to its first users in a few weeks. Everything began with two people — until now.”

“In terms of product, we will continue to develop our proprietary immigration tech product as well as the study abroad product (which will be available in a few weeks) that we have been working on for the past few months.” “Our vision is to create world-class products along the immigration value chain in terms of usability and simplicity,” he added.
According to Omotoye, the company is constantly pushing the boundaries of what immigration products can offer. “We anticipate that within a few years, an entirely new category of APIs will be built on top of our products, and we want to be at the forefront of development.”
