Despite the announcement and circulation of redesigned naira notes by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) after obtaining approval from President Muhammadu Buhari, a viral video has surfaced online showing the moment a Lagos bus conductor refused collecting the new naira note.
The lady who had boarded the commercial bus gave the bus conductor the recently redesigned naira notes which he rejected for fear of being cheated.
According to the man, he doesn’t recognize the money yet and can’t collect it; he insisted that the lady gives him the old one he knows or get off his bus.
Other passengers on the bus had interceded and urged the conductor to collect the money as it is already in circulation.
At a point, he collected the cash from the lady to go consult with his other colleagues on the authenticity of the note.
