Wakanow has taken the bull by the horn by restructuring its chain of command, in line with this the Board of Directors and Management of Wakanow Group has appointed Mr. Adebayo Adedeji as the Group Chief Executive  Officer and Mrs. Adenike Macauly, who was recently appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Wakanow Nigeria to take effect January 2023.

This puts Bayo Adedeji on the frontline leading the charge for expanding Waka now business in Africa, most especially West Africa while expanding its tentacles to other regions in the world, this leaves Mrs. Macaulay with Nigeria where she will lead the charge and extend the covering Wakanow to every nook and cranny in the country.

The new Group CEO Bayo Adedeji who made the announcement said “We are expanding into new verticals and Countries in Africa and beyond to take advantage of new business opportunities in the emerging competitive landscape leveraging our deep understanding of the African customer and expertise in the travel tech industry, and I will be leading this venture as Group CEO”

Adding that “The synergy I have built with Adenike over the last 18 months makes me super confident to take on this new challenge knowing that our core business will continually grow geometrically in her hands.”

Mrs. Macaulay, the new Wakanow Nigeria CEO also shared how excited she was to take on the new responsibility. She said, “I am delighted to receive the leadership torch of Wakanow Nigeria from Bayo and also excited to take on the new responsibility saddled upon me by the board and management of Wakanow and look forward to leading and building with an immensely talented team.”

These recent changes are also coming with structural changes to the company’s subsidiaries which include opening new frontiers across regions in Africa and delivering technologically powered solutions for basic things such as booking hotels or rides and buying flight tickets.

Wakanow believes these strategic changes are important ingredients to the growth and success of the company and its recent success recorded since the end of the pandemic. Recently reclaiming its number one spot in Africa’s largest market, Nigeria, Wakanow can now proceed with opening new operations in UAE, the US, Sierra Leone and Gambia, which amplifies the company’s drive to connect all of Africa and Africans beginning with West Africa, with plans also in place to launch the business in UK, Senegal, and Cote D’Ivoire in 2023.
