Twitter CEO, Elon Musk has announced through a tweet on his official Twitter page that the final date for the removal of all free Twitter verification for Twitter accounts is April 20th.
Elon Musk tweeted; “Final date for removing legacy Blue checks is 4/20.”
Elon Musk had earlier announced through a tweet by the company, that from April 1, 2023, it would commence the removal of all legacy blue checks.
Twitter stated in a Tweet in March saying “On April 1st, we will begin winding down our legacy verified program and removing legacy verified check marks. To keep your blue checkmark on Twitter, individuals can sign up for Twitter Blue,”. It also added a link for users to subscribe to the premium program.
This recent development means that all Twitter accounts that account which were given free verification badges before Elon Musk took over the company will lose their verification badge and are expected to pay for Twitter Blue to enjoy the verification services again.
