NBCUniversal CEO Steps Down Over

Jeff Shell, CEO of NEWS and entertainment giant NBCUniversal has announced that he is stepping down as CEO after admitting to having had an ‘inappropriate relationship’ with a female employee who works for the company.

According to the announcement made by Jeff Shell on Sunday, which was released by Comcast, NBCUniversal parent company.He said “Today is my last day as CEO of NBCUniversal. I had an inappropriate relationship with a woman in the company, which I deeply regret,”

he also added that “I’m truly sorry I let my Comcast and NBCUniversal colleagues down, they are the most talented people in the business and the opportunity to work with them the last 19 years has been a privilege,”

Following this statement, Comcast has disclosed that an agreement was made mutually after an investigation was carried out by an outside counsel into a complaint of inappropriate conduct.

Jeff Shell, who was named CEO of NBCUniversal in January 2020, was in charge of the company’s new and entertainment television networks, motion picture company as well as significant television and sports production organization. He was also in charge of television stations, theme parks, and a premier ad-supported streaming service.

Jeff also served as NBCUniversal chairman from 2013-2020.

Although a replacement has not been named by Comcast, Jeff’s team will now be reporting to Mike Cavanagh, President of Comcast Corporation.
