Cassie disclosed that she took a significant step towards healing by checking herself into an inpatient treatment center, where she confronted the trauma endured over a decade.
Reflecting on this, she stated, “Confronting the trauma head-on was a crucial step. It required intensive therapy and medical care to recover from the abuse. I’ll forever live with the physical and psychological repercussions of the violence, fear, and exploitation endured.”

Intensive therapy and medical care were essential for her recovery, and she acknowledged that the physical and psychological repercussions would be lifelong.
Cassie, however, conveyed a sense of hope and resilience as she spoke about rebuilding her life and career. Despite the challenges, the birth of her two children provided her with a renewed sense of purpose, saving her from the trauma that had consumed a significant part of her life.
The singer shared that during the years of abuse, she struggled with addiction to drugs and alcohol, which were established and fueled by Mr. Combs. Substance abuse became a coping mechanism to drown out the haunting memories of forced sexual acts and physical beatings.
Even during pregnancy, except for those months, she battled horrific nightmares, difficulty eating and sleeping, strained relationships with her family, and thoughts of ending her life.
To reconstruct her life and career, Ventura emphasized the necessity to reinvent herself. Her journey included a commitment to intensive therapy and medical care. While unable to speak up against the abuse in the past, she expressed readiness to confront her abuser, Sean Combs, and those who enabled his actions.
She also credited recent legal developments, including New York’s Adult Survivors’ Act and California’s Sexual Abuse Accountability and Cover-Up Act, for empowering her to speak out and seek justice.
“Thanks to the passage of New York’sAdult Survivors’ Actand California’s Sexual Abuse Accountability and Cover-Up Act, I am now ready and able to also confront my abuser, and to hold him and those who enabled his abuse accountable for their actions.”she affirmed.
