Leading telecom company, Airtel Nigeria, has introduced the Airtel Smart Router, a new 4G router that can connect up to 10 devices and also gives users access to a smart TV experience on a standard television.
Users may access their TV displays straight from the Airtel Smart Router and enjoy a seamless smart TV experience thanks to its programming that makes use of both wireless and Ethernet connections. Personalised, immersive, and up-to-date material can significantly enhance users’ viewing experiences with embedded applications, which allow users to easily access well-known entertainment streaming sites like Netflix, Hulu, and Showmax.
Chief Commercial Officer of Airtel Nigeria, Femi Oshinlaja, commented on the introduction, stating that the new Smart Router is a significant advancement in the way that consumers enjoy entertainment at home.
He said: “With the Airtel smart routers, we can now deliver affordable and superior entertainment content from multiple streaming services to the home of many Nigerians without a non-smart TV set. Apart from the benefits of smart TVs, the SIM-based, 4G-capable Smart Router can connect up to 10 different devices at once, meaning that several gadgets for work, play, security, or pleasure can be connected to the same internet subscription.
Continuing, he disclosed: “Users can connect smart cams, smart doorbells, tablets, smartphones, laptops, and TV at the same time.”

He said: “After purchasing the device at N25,000, unlimited data awaits customers for 30 days, and a 100% bonus for six months when they recharge the N10,000 – N15,000 bundle.”
However, he said the bundles could be purchased via Airtel.com.ng/HBB, *370#, bank apps, Quick teller, or any other airtime/data purchasing apps.
