Citisquare Africa Seeks To Address The Rising Problem Of Professional Burnout With Tech

Citisquare Africa has declared its intention to use technology to address the rising problem of professional burnout.

This action is being taken in the wake of the COVID-19 epidemic, which has resulted in a marked rise in cases of burnout worldwide.

According to a Deloitte analysis from 2022, burnout—which is marked by emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion—has affected an astounding 77% of working people worldwide. It went on to say that the decreasing economic growth was projected to have a particularly negative effect on Africa.

Responding, the “Colours of Well-Being” event is being planned by Citisquare Africa for July 20, 2024, at the Centre Point Tower in Ikoyi, Lagos.

It was mentioned that the purpose of the event was to give techniques for preventing burnout at work and improving financial security.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Tolu Oko-Igiare, the president of the Association for Counselling, Matchmaking, and Psychotherapy of Nigeria and the Executive Director of the Institute of Counselling in Nigeria.

A panel discussion with experts, including Mr. Yinka Adebayo, Group Executive Director of Omnicom Media Group, and Mr. Idorenyen Enang, President of Council at the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, will take place after the speech.

The others are Ms. Omon Anenih, the founder and CEO of the Dew Centre; Ms. Sherrie Ijewere, a clinical nutritionist and consultant; Dr. Itunu Akinware, the Group Managing Director of Medaury Hea-theera; and Mr. Oluyemi Oloyede, the MD/CEO of UAC Foods Ltd.

Continuing, it stated that the event’s goal was to address the difficulties faced by professionals, in particular the silent battle of burnout—a persistent robber of energy and joy. It will provide guidance on preserving wellbeing in the face of contemporary life’s obligations.

According to the company, members will receive useful guidance from wellness and health specialists, along with tangible resources for stress management and leading a balanced lifestyle.

The organisers had this to say: “By joining us, you align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 (good health and well-being) and SDG 5 (gender equality). Together, we contribute to a movement that seeks to build a compassionate and inclusive world.”
