President Joe Biden has reportedly agreed to step down as the Democratic nominee for President of the United States as early as this weekend, sources tell political analyst Mark Halperin.
Biden will also reportedly endorse an open convention and not VP Kamala Harris.
Carl Higbie, American political activist and author, in an interview with political analyst Mark Halperin, on NewsMax seeks his perspective on Joe Biden’s sudden change of plans.
Mark Halperin said, “According to multiple Democratic sources, this is happening all of a sudden, everyone said it will happen gradually and then all at once, and that’s what’s happening. According to my sources, President Biden has agreed to step down as a Democratic nominee.”
Halperin spoke further about Biden’s intention, stating that he will continue on his presidency.
He said: “He also will not, I’m told, endorse the Vice President D. Harris as his successor. They’re hoping that he’ll endorse an open process in which the convention will be open to Vice President D. Harris and a few other candidates in Chicago to pick a Democratic nominee for president. The belief is that Vice President D. Harris is already looking at a potential running mate to go to Chicago with the four tickets! including one possible Andy Beshear the governor of Kentucky, and perhaps the governor of Pennsylvania, Governor Shapiro. Other possible candidates to be talked about include Governor Newsom, the governor of California, perhaps Gretchen Whitmire, and again the VP running.”
Continuing, Mark added that on the first ballot, the regular delegates will be allowed to vote on the disagreement that is being talked about amongst the president and the high-level democratic officials.
He said: “The regular delegates will vote on the first ballot, if there is no winner on the first ballot, suit, the so-called super delegates will be allowed to vote on the subsequent ballot.”
He said this decision was reached and pulled all of a sudden because of the high-level pressure from Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, and others as well as the decision of many of President Biden’s topics that there was no platform for him. He stated: “He would not be able to win this election and therefore he’s stepping aside, I guess as early as this weekend.”
Higbie also asked, Mark, you know one of the political ramifications for a party that based much of their platform on diversity, equity, and inclusion and then passing right over Kamala Harris and not gonna be endorsing her according to your sources?
In response, Mark said “According to my sources, he would say very nice things about her, they do not want what some of my sources have been calling a common equal nation. The problem in part that they found themselves in was that President Biden was not seriously challenged for the nomination. I’m told by some of her people, I don’t know if the Vice President thinks so, but some of her people believe that she will win this. That she has chosen a strong running mate, that she does have the support of many of the delegates who are Biden-Harris delegates, and that she can win this basically on her own. At least one of her allies said to me, “This is better, better than not being anointed by J. Biden, better to show independence, better to show with a strong ticket the capacity to win the nomination on her own.”

According to Higbie, Mark, that said though, I mean you heard from one of the campaigns finding slots, he has, you know, two hundred and three hundred million in his Worchest right now. I believe in my own understanding Kamala is the only one who can absorb that and continue on the campaign. How’s that gonna work when all the big packet donors have already pushed for that?
Responding, Mark said there’s also some money right there, there’s Superpack money, there’s Low dollars. The belief is that the new ticket will inject excitement into the party and that both the low-dollar donors and the big donors who in the last few days have sent a strong message to President Biden that they will not support his being a democratic nominee.
He added that there is a strong belief that with the new ticket, they can raise money from the big dollars donors who can give in bundle hard dollars, can give super pack money, as well as the small dollars donations, though it will come into whatever the new ticket is, whether it is the vice president or not. If it is the vice president, most campaign finance experts believe she does get to keep Bidenarian’s money.
