Right now, there is a network outage that is impeding telecom customers’ access to quick internet.

Industry insiders have connected this network issue, which started on Thursday, to both external sabotage and damaged fibre.

According to a source who brought this to the BrandSpur’ Telecom and IT news desk: “A fibre manhole of one of the operators was set ablaze along Lekki Epe Expressway.”

Network administrators are presently attempting to resolve this outage. The source added that: “We are working on it. It is just a network downtime.”

A few users claim that their network speed and quality have improved since they started using a VPN, particularly for X. @Toriah posted: “Save yourself the stress, just use VPN.”

Numerous users are associating the network malfunction with the ongoing demonstration against poor governance that got underway on Thursday. Industry sources, however, claimed it is unrelated, saying: “More people will be online today, so why will we want to sabotage that.”
