Golden Morn cereal from Nestlé Nigeria now comes in new environmentally friendly packaging, which the company says will improve sustainability and boost regional economic development.

Nestle’s Category Manager for Dairy, Omofasa Orhiunu, made this announcement on Monday at the “Rebirth of the King of Breakfast” event in Lagos.

According to him: “This is not just a new look, It is a testament to our commitment to supporting Nigerian farmers and reducing our environmental footprint.”

Continuing, he added that Nestlé’s commitment to procuring locally to ensure freshness and quality while bolstering the Nigerian economy is reflected in the new packaging.

Additionally, Victoria Uwadoka, Nestlé’s Corporate Communications, Public Affairs, and Sustainability Lead, said that the company was committed to helping farmers by offering them seed capital and technical support to help them raise their standard of living through a variety of initiatives.

Giving her remarks, she said: “Our approach emphasises developing value chains that increase farmers’ incomes and enhance their quality of life.”

She pointed out to BrandSpur national news story that in order to create shared value across the nation, Nestlé’s approach was based on three pillars: people, communities, and the world.

Uwadoka continued, Nestlé’s global objectives are to minimise environmental impact and foster a circular economy, which is aligned with the new recyclable packaging.

Furthering, she revealed: “Nestlé collaborates with the Enterprise Development Centre of Pan-Atlantic University to empower young farmers through its agripreneur series. We are nurturing the next generation of innovative farmers.”

“As we unveil our new packaging, we reaffirm our commitment to nourishing Nigeria and supporting local communities,” Boladale Odunlami, the company’s commercial manager, reiterated the company’s dedication to bolstering the GDP of the country.

Odunlami added: “By investing in our local economy, we empower our farmers and contribute to sustainable growth.”
