The redesigned “Subscription” monetisation option from TikTok is now available to qualified creators in a few select locations, such as Brazil, France, Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, and the United States, the company said on Monday. In the upcoming weeks, the company said, it intends to provide the feature to more markets.

The formal launch coincides with TikTok’s announcement in March that it would rebrand its LIVE Subscription monetization tool as “Subscription” and shortly make it available to non-LIVE producers as well.

TikTok’s response to Patreon, a platform for creators that enables users to share exclusive content with paying subscribers, is its subscription service.

The feature on TikTok also faces competition from YouTube’s channel memberships and Instagram’s subscription services, which let creators increase their revenue by providing viewers with access to more content and benefits.

Regular producers can now provide special content and other benefits to paying subscribers thanks to the expansion. For a monthly charge, creators can offer their customers three distinct tiers at three different price points, each of which offers a variety of exclusive benefits.

Some Other Benefits include:

  • Access to films, LIVEs, and notes that are only available to paying users is available to subscribers.
  • Benefits including extra communication channels, such as Sub Space, an exclusive platform where creators engage with their subscribers, are also available to members.
  • Subscribers also receive exclusive stickers to use in LIVEs and badges that show up on their profiles and in comments beside their names.

Additionally, creators can provide unique benefits made just for their community, BrandSpur digital news platform reports. Customised perks are additional benefits that creators can select from a pre-made list that TikTok provides, according to the spokesperson for the platform in an email.

Performance requests, Discord roles, shout-outs, behind-the-scenes videos, cooperative gaming, and more are some of these features.

However, in addition to having 100,000 video views in the previous calendar month and 10,000 followers, creators must be at least 18 years old to access Subscription. Accounts belonging to creators must also be in good standing.
