At the much-awaited “We, Robot” event on Thursday night, Musk made the audacious announcement shortly after introducing his company’s most recent advancement in self-driving car technology, which includes two new autonomous models: the Robovan and the Cybercab robotaxi.
Musk expressed confidence in his long-term vision for the robot, estimating that it will cost between $20,000 and $30,000; he claimed that Optimus “can do anything you think of,” highlighting the robot’s potential to revolutionise daily life with tasks like walking your dog, babysitting, mowing the lawn, and even serving drinks.
According to him: “I believe this will be the most significant product ever created.”
