The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) is warning users to apply for new meters to avoid being forced to move to postpaid billing as they have indicated that UNISTAR meters would be phased out by November 14, 2024.
The firm made it clear in a notice posted on Friday, October 11, 2024, that the new STS 2.0 metering system, which is being implemented throughout its network, is incompatible with UNISTAR meters.
According to EKEDC: “UNISTAR meters are not compatible with the new STS 2.0 system. Kindly apply for a new meter to avoid being moved to postpaid billing.”
