The 52nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) will take place at the Lagos Oriental Hotel on Victoria Island, Lagos, from October 22–24, 2024. The 52nd AGM, the 4th Adeola Odutola Lecture/Presidential Luncheon, and the Made-in-Nigeria Exhibition are all part of the three-day event.

The event, “The Imperatives of an Intentional Development of the Nigerian Manufacturing Sector,” is expected to bring together manufacturers, government officials, captains of industries, regulators, marketers, consumers, and other pertinent parties in the manufacturing sector.

At the press conference accessed by BrandSpur Nigeria news, announcing the event, Otunba Francis Meshioye, President of MAN, stated that in addition to celebrating some of the industry’s achievements, the event will assist in helping the sector map out a future while taking into account the difficulties it is currently facing.

According to the President: “We need to urgently address the binding constraints that make our local products uncompetitive, otherwise, the economy may continue on the downward trend with no certainty on when it will rebound. As critical stakeholders in the Nigerian economy, we shall continue to play our role of presenting the government with policy inputs and options. We shall continue to partner with governments with a view to co-creating innovative solutions that will free the Nigerian economy from its lackluster performance and place it on the path of productivity, sustainable growth, and development.”

Other dignitaries will accompany him in emphasizing the importance of Nigerians buying products made in their country. At the event, over 100 exhibitors will present their products to over 10,000 attendees from Nigeria and other African nations.

Economic Ministers, heads of government agencies and departments, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the organized private sector, and other stakeholders are among the dignitaries who are anticipated to attend, BrandSpur national news stories report.

The AGM proper will take place on Wednesday, October 23, in the Grand Ball Room and is exclusively open to MAN members. It is the second day of the event. On that day, there will also be an awareness session about the GEF-UNIDO & IEE RECP project and a presentation by KPMG on embracing sustainable finance.

The 4th Annual Adeola Odutola Lecture/Presidential Luncheon will take place on the third day, which is the grand finale. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the Special Guest of Honor, and the guest speaker is Mr. Samaila Zubairu, President & CEO of the Africa Finance Corporation.
