Globacom, one of Nigeria’s top telecom providers, collaborates with Tetragrammaton, the value-added service provider for these services, and Nitroswitch, an aggregator company licensed by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), to give N1 million cheques each to the most recent winners of the exciting monthly Glo Jolly Win contest.
The cheques disbursed are on top of the daily data and airtime bonuses that other Glo users who participate in the promo get. Following the symbolic presentation of their checks, five winners at the monthly presentation ceremony in Lagos were promptly credited with their winnings.
BrandSpur telecom and IT news report that the first person to win N1 million in the September promotion was Olieh Somtochukwu, a realtor from Anambra State.
One of the winners, Mrs. Adebayo Idowu, a recently retired school teacher, would have gotten her cheque at the initial presentation in September if she hadn’t questioned the legitimacy of the promo. Even after several talks, including video chats, she was hesitant to acknowledge that she had won a million naira. She was present with the new group of winners to finally get her prize after she eventually came to believe it.
The other winners were a Mechanical Engineer, Abiodun Oluwasanmi Temitayo; a Teacher, Ashimiu Aminat Idowu; a Corporate Driver, Abdul Mumuni Oseni; and a Lagos-based Printing and Publishing Agent, Sanni Ganiu Bayo.
Mojeed Aluko of Globacom’s Value Added Services Division discussed the lucrative promo, saying: “The Glo Jolly Win is a lottery service in which subscribers can answer trivia questions or spin a wheel to win loads of airtime, data and cash prizes for as low as N100/day, with no need for downloads or any storage usage on their phones. Subscribers can select their preferred services from the options of Jolly Trivia, Wheel, Win & Life to join in the fun and excitement of the lottery with the potential to become millionaires.”
