Dr. Mories Atoki, the CEO of ABC Health, was the star of the recent International Wellness Tree Virtual Summit, which was organized by Citisquare Africa. She fervently underlined how vital it is to put holistic wellness first to improve individual well-being and build a robust healthcare system in Africa.

She gave the keynote address, saying: “We must tackle the multifaceted challenges facing our sector.”

The summit was more than just a gathering; it was a component of Citisquare Africa’s audacious plan to promote complete wellness by providing workable answers that balance holistic health with financial security.

Dr. Atoki emphasized a crucial obstacle in her lecture, “Empowering Africa’s Growth: Integrating Financial Freedom into Holistic Wellness and Unity”, the inability to obtain essential healthcare information. She emphasized the importance of putting health first since, ultimately, ill health lowers national output and workforce participation.

According to her, a country’s health depends on the health of its citizens. Any country is at a disadvantage if it ignores health as a growth enabler. While advocating for swift government action, she asked industry stakeholders to become involved with local communities, support literacy and education, and guarantee access to high-quality resources, such as those offered by Citisquare Africa.

During the lively panel discussion accessed by BrandSpur, that ensued, Consultant Nephrologist Dr. Banji Awosika advocated for proactive health management.

According to him: “Don’t wait until you are unwell to visit a doctor.”

He gave advice, recommending a healthy diet, lots of water, and close monitoring of blood pressure, cholesterol, and sugar levels.

The wellbeing Tree model’s Originator and CEO of The Nutrition Hospital & Wellness Center, Dr. Patrick Ijewere, joined the discussion to remind participants that well-being predates medicine. He fervently advocated investigating the five fundamental pillars of comprehensive well-being:

  • Spirituality (Godliness, the God factor, or finding purpose): Practicing activities that promote a feeling of connectedness and purpose, which improves emotional health and resilience.
  • Environment (Sustainability): establishing and preserving areas that promote health while highlighting a dedication to sustainability for the good of both people and the environment.
  • Mental well-being, or mindset, is the cultivation of a growth-oriented and optimistic outlook, which is essential for emotional stability and motivation.
  • Stressing the value of a well-balanced diet full of whole foods to support the body and mind is known as nutrition (healthy eating).
  • Lifestyle (Alignment with Nature): Developing routines and behaviors that encourage exercise, relaxation, and a healthy coexistence with the natural world.

Continuing, he said: “Adopt these principles, and you will shirk the shadows of ill health.”

This idea was mirrored by Sandro Bilobrk, the founder and head coach of FromCoach, who emphasized the significance of knowing our bodies and taking personal responsibility for our health. It matters how we treat ourselves, he said.

Dr. Maymunah Yusuf Kadiri, Medical Director of Pinnacle Medical Services, addressed mental health and emphasized the importance of being aware of one’s health. She said: “Health is wealth, if you are healthy, you can pursue your goals; if not, it becomes a challenge.”

As a crucial component of corporate responsibility, she also emphasized the ability of workplace programs to increase employee productivity.

Dr. Tracy Lynn West, Founder of Stay Positive and a personal growth specialist emphasized the importance of balance in work settings, saying: “A leader’s primary role is to develop other leaders. Checking in on your team’s well-being is a small but impactful start.”

The invitation to become a part of Citisquare Africa’s vibrant community was made very plain as the summit came to an end.

Convener of the summit accessed by BrandSpur business and economy news, Founder and creator of Citisquare Africa, Dr. Uche Nnama, urged participants to interact with the organization’s all-encompassing methods intended to promote financial independence and overall wellness. He stated: “Our community thrives together (Colours of Well-being Tribe). Wellness is indeed a journey.”
