Facebook’s Co-founder, CEO Mark Elliot Zuckerberg, announced that Meta’s microblogging network, Threads, now has over 100 million daily active users.

Additionally, the number of monthly active users on the site has increased to 300 million, up from the 275 million recorded last month. Given its continued prominence in the social media sector, this is the first time Meta has released daily active user numbers for Threads.

Since its launch as X’s rival, Threads has experienced a sharp increase in popularity thanks to a wave of users switching from its rival. The introduction of user-friendly features, including personalized feeds, curated account recommendations for new users, and the ability to customize the default feed, has helped the platform’s ongoing growth.

Thread’s growth has been maintained and new users have been drawn in thanks to these changes. On the other hand, rival platform Bluesky, which has become popular as a substitute for X, claims to have just over 25 million users as of right now. However, Threads continues to lead in terms of scalability, using its larger ecosystem under Meta to spur expansion.

Despite Threads’ rise to prominence in the social network industry, Meta is allegedly investigating revenue-generating tactics, with the possibility of launching advertisements as early as next year. How the platform strikes a balance between user growth and long-term profitability will depend on how it develops further, BrandSpur digital news platform reports.
