Access Bank PLC has made all the preparations necessary to conduct its inaugural Africa Trade Conference (ATC), a historic occasion aimed at furthering Africa’s economic transformation. The event, which has its theme “Empowering Africa Through Trade, Innovation, and Sustainable Growth,” is set for March 12, 2025, in Cape Town, South Africa.

The conference is set to bring together the most powerful voices in banking, trade, and politics to discuss the future of commerce throughout the continent, according to Access Bank. The goal of the conference is to address the structural issues impeding trade, especially for SMEs and local enterprises, as Africa’s trade finance deficit is projected to be $81 billion yearly.

BrandSpur banking and finance news report that the Conference will examine creative solutions, sustainable trade practices, and tactics for integrating African countries into global value chains by encouraging cooperation amongst important players.

In his remarks, Roosevelt Ogbonna, the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank PLC, highlighted the significance of the Africa Trade Conference in tackling these urgent problems.

According to him: “The Africa Trade Conference represents a crucial step in redefining Africa’s trade potential. By creating platforms for dialogue, innovation, and actionable solutions, Access Bank is enabling African businesses to connect and thrive in the global economy.”

Access Bank has a distinct edge in promoting trade both inside and between Africa due to its presence in 24 countries worldwide, including 16 in Africa. The Bank is positioned as a major role in resolving trade issues and fostering equitable growth throughout the continent thanks to its expanding network.

The Executive Director of Access Bank’s African subsidiaries, Seyi Kumapayi, emphasised the forum’s overarching goal by stating: “The Africa Trade Conference is a platform to not only address Africa’s trade challenges but to champion the continent’s opportunities. Through strategic partnerships tailored financial solutions, built on the ethos of sustainability, we are paving the way for Africa’s businesses to take their place on the global stage.”

The Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), which seeks to lower trade obstacles, improve infrastructure, and incorporate African countries into international trade networks, will also be highlighted at the ATC for its revolutionary potential.

Continuing, a thorough roadmap for strengthening Africa’s position in international trade will be provided by the event, which will also examine important topics influencing the continent’s economic future, such as the revolutionary role of innovation and digitisation in global trade, ways to remove trade barriers to improve market access, sustainable trade practices, and creative financing models.
