Nigerian Delegates To Meet with Netflix In Amsterdam, Discuss Progress of Film

To meet with the streaming behemoth Netflix, the Honourable Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musawa, has dispatched an official delegation to Amsterdam.

The purpose of the discussion, which is anticipated to take place in Netflix’s corporate offices in Amsterdam, is to talk about how the Nigerian film industry will be affected by the streaming service’s recent decision to stop commissioning original material.

Notably, though, the meeting’s goal is to investigate potential win-win solutions. Dr. Shaibu Husseini, Executive Director/CEO of the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), will serve as the delegation’s leader. Distinguished players such as Charles Okpaleke, OON of Charles of Play Network, Kene Okwousa, Group Managing Director of FilmOne, filmmaker and director Moses Iwang, and Joy Odiete, President of the Film Distributors Association of Nigeria (FDAN), will accompany Dr. Husseini.
