Motorola unveiled the first phone in its Edge 60 series, which is a midrange phone with a unique feature: a faux-canvas finish. Although the Edge 60 Fusion’s moulded camera module and unexpectedly thin shell give it a realistic appearance, its basic specifications are in line with its affordable pricing of £299.99 (about $390) in the UK.

The canvas-effect finish is one of the phone’s primary features, it is exclusive to the “amazonite” (or teal) model. It also comes in pink and blue, although they have a fake leather finish. The phone is completely secured from dust, water immersion, and high-pressure sprays thanks to its IP68 and 69 classifications.

The Edge 60 Fusion’s specifications vary slightly across countries, but the UK model, which is less than 8 mm thick, is small for its size even if it has a sizable 5,200mAh battery beneath its 6.67-inch OLED screen. Other models have a slightly thicker battery but include an even larger 5,500mAh cell. However, with 512GB of storage and up to 12GB of RAM, the Fusion is likely limited by the comparatively simple MediaTek Dimensity processor, which is either a 7300 or 7400, depending on the market, but there isn’t much of a difference between them.
You only get a 50-megapixel primary lens and a 13-megapixel ultrawide; the other two may appear to be four cameras on the rear, but one is a flicker sensor, and the other is the flash. There were five models in the Edge 50 range last year, and the Fusion is anticipated to be the first in a series of Edge 60 phones.
None of those were released in the U.S., and it’s unlikely that any of this year’s phones will either. As a result, American consumers will have to settle for the $299.99 Moto G Power from January, which features wireless charging but misses the OLED display and canvas feel of the Fusion.
According to rumours available to BrandSpur news brand, Motorola will soon reveal its redesigned Razr flip phones, which are likely to have a wooden veneer as a nod to the 2014 Moto X.
