Air Peace, the biggest airline in West and Central Africa, has empowered women in Umuerim-Umukparo in Mbala village, Abia State, as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs, which focus on the environment, social welfare, education, youth, and women’s empowerment.

During their visit to the community, Air Peace gave ladies six return economy tickets so they could fly wherever in Nigeria. By promoting interest in aviation-related occupations including pilots, cabin crew, engineers, and airline management, this gesture hopes to encourage more women to travel by air. It was a potent moment of support and inclusivity, demonstrating how one person’s accomplishment can lead to opportunities for many.

Dr Ejike Ndiulo, Head of Corporate Communications at Air Peace, spoke at the event and emphasised the airline’s dedication to women’s inclusion and leadership. He stated: “Air Peace is here today in the Mbala community to empower women, humanize air travel and demonstrate the power of aviation to transform lives.

“At Air Peace, we believe in the strength, resilience, and potential of women. Our Vice Chairman, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief of Administration and Finance are all women, setting a powerful example across the aviation industry. This initiative is not just about flights; it is about unlocking opportunities. Today, a first-time traveller; tomorrow, a pilot or an aviation leader,” he added.

According to him, Air Peace is committed to making flying accessible to all Nigerians, regardless of their background, including women, men, and young people. This dedication goes beyond simply offering safe and reasonably priced air travel.

Continuing, the inspirational trip of Miss Gold Chinyere Ike, the first lady from Umuerim Umukparo to go by air, has already been honoured by Air Peace. The Air Peace Corporate Communications team was moved by her narrative and travelled to Mbala to meet her face-to-face. Townspeople flocked to the sandy roads in amazement and appreciation, the Egede dance company on full show, and drums thumping as the squad was greeted with joy. Chinyere found it unreal. She said: “I didn’t know what to expect.”

She went on to say: “That you people came to my village just because of me… I’m grateful. The community is so happy.”

In particular, the visit was intended to honour her story while also reaffirming Air Peace’s dedication to providing chances to even the most isolated areas in Nigeria and abroad. She received two free return economy tickets to any domestic location of her choosing, as well as branded mementoes, from the delegation that represented Air Peace Limited’s Chairman/CEO, Dr Allen Onyema. The journey of Ms. Gold Chinyere Ike perfectly encapsulates the reason behind our actions.

Air Peace was established to make flying accessible to everyone, in addition to offering safe and reasonably priced air travel.

More than just a viral moment, Ms. Ike’s narrative is a depiction of overcoming adversity to achieve one’s goals and advancement. By elevating her voice and making investments in her community, Air Peace keeps advocating for important stories.

This program subtly resides within the airline’s broad CSR framework and underscores its dedication to community impact, inclusion, and transforming everyday lives into extraordinary ones. However, for Air Peace, flying is more than simply a means of transportation; it’s about the person you become once you’re airborne, BrandSpur Nigeria news reports.
