
Following disclosing an undisclosed romantic relationship with a direct subordinate, the Swiss food giant, Nestlé announced the dismissal of its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Laurent Freixe.
After a board-ordered investigation was carried out and found he had violated the company’s code of conduct by having an affair with a direct subordinate, this dismissal went into effect.
BrandSpur news brand reports that Laurent Freixe, now sixty-three, had worked for Nestlé for nearly forty years. He took over as Global CEO from Mark Schneider in September of 2024.

Continuing, under the direction of Lead Independent Director, Pablo Isla and Chairman Paul Bulcke, the inquiry was conducted.
The Chairman had this to say on the executed investigation: “This was a necessary decision. Nestlé’s values and governance are strong foundations of our company. I thank Laurent for his years of service at Nestlé.”
