Meristem Nigeria has announced the appointment of Kemi (Olubọba) Ojenike as Managing Director of Meristem Family Office, marking a pivotal moment in the firm’s commitment to holistic wealth management and long-term value creation. The leadership transition, effective January 2026, positions Ojenike to guide high-net-worth individuals and families in preserving, growing, and transferring wealth across generations.
Brandspur Banking News Desk reports that Ojenike’s appointment represents both continuity and innovation within Meristem. She steps into the role after serving as Chief Operations Officer from January 2023 to December 2025, where she strengthened internal systems, enhanced operational efficiency, and maintained the firm’s client-centred approach. Her leadership philosophy integrates law, governance, communication, and social responsibility, offering a multidimensional perspective on wealth stewardship.
Ojenike brings over a decade of professional experience spanning legal advisory, family wealth management, and strategic governance. Her legal training has informed her structured approach to advisory services, enabling clients to translate complex frameworks into actionable strategies. She has helped families protect financial assets, values, and legacy while fostering intergenerational harmony.
Prior to joining Meristem, Ojenike held senior positions at Sankore Investments, including Vice President, Family Office; Group Head, Legal and Compliance; and Head of Legacy Planning and Governance. She also trained at SimmonsCooper Partners, gaining experience in transaction advisory, litigation support, and corporate legal services. In addition, she serves on the Governing Board of Dansol High School, contributing to educational oversight and governance.
Ojenike is also a recognised leader in strategic communication, mentorship, and professional development. She advocates for clarity in expression as a core driver of decision-making and effective leadership, both in corporate settings and family offices.
Beyond her professional roles, she is a founding member and governance lead of The Destiny Trust, a non-profit organisation supporting disadvantaged children through education and empowerment. Her work emphasises that wealth and legacy extend beyond financial success to societal impact.
Ojenike holds multiple credentials, including Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Chartered Governance Professional (UK & Ireland), and Trusted Family Advisor certification from the Institute for Preparing Heirs. She has also completed advanced training in Corporate Strategy at the University of London.
In assuming her new role, Ojenike envisions wealth management that blends structure with empathy and strategy with service, signalling Meristem Family Office’s commitment to integrated, human-centred leadership. Stakeholders in the financial, legal, and advisory ecosystem view her appointment as a clear indicator that the future of wealth management lies in disciplined governance and thoughtful integration.
