Google has introduced its latest AI-powered image generation tools to users in Nigeria, enabling individuals to create professional-quality visuals directly through Google Search and Google Lens by simply entering descriptive prompts.

The tools are powered by Google’s advanced image model, Nano Banana 2, which delivers high-speed, context-aware, and realistic images. Users can access the feature via the Google App or a mobile browser, making it possible to generate detailed visuals in seconds without specialised technical skills.

Brandspur Brand News reports that the rollout is part of Google’s broader initiative to democratise AI technology for students, entrepreneurs, artists, and creators. According to Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade, Communications & PR Manager, West Africa at Google, the platform opens new creative and commercial opportunities. Small business owners can visualise storefront concepts instantly, while storytellers can maintain consistent characters across digital comics or animations.

The AI integration with Google Search improves real-world accuracy, leveraging search data to produce more reliable depictions of landmarks, brands, and objects, addressing common inconsistencies in AI-generated visuals. The tool also supports text insertion, enabling users to design social media graphics, flyers, and greeting cards with a professional finish.

Google emphasises responsible use through its SynthID digital watermark and C2PA-standard metadata, which identify all outputs as AI-generated content. The Nigerian launch of Nano Banana 2 complements Google’s global AI initiatives, including the AI Max for Search Campaigns, which helps businesses optimise visibility in search results even with unconventional queries.

These innovations could significantly benefit African entrepreneurs navigating a competitive digital market, providing smarter tools to engage audiences, streamline operations, and enhance creativity in an evolving online ecosystem.
