Usman Onoja Appointed Chairman Of Lovonus Microfinance Bank Board

Lovonus Microfinance Bank Limited has confirmed the appointment of Usman Onoja as Chairman of its board of directors, following the retirement and elevation of Alfred Okoigun to Chairman of the Lovonus Group of Companies.

The transition marks a key milestone in the bank’s leadership evolution, with Okoigun leaving behind a legacy of growth, strong governance, and expanded service offerings, including the acquisition of land for the group’s permanent headquarters.

Brandspur Banking News Desk reports that at a ceremony recognising the leadership handover, Onoja lauded Okoigun’s tenure, describing it as a period defined by discipline, integrity, and visionary leadership. He emphasised that Okoigun’s strategic direction strengthened the bank’s capital base, improved governance frameworks, and deepened its commitment to financial inclusion across Nigeria.

Onoja highlighted that the elevation of Okoigun to the group level signifies Lovonus’s expansion from a single financial institution to a broader corporate entity with diversified interests. He assured stakeholders of continuity and consolidation, pledging to build on existing achievements, drive innovation, enhance governance, and maintain customer confidence in the bank.

A member of the board, Oliver Amike, noted that Okoigun’s leadership instilled a lasting culture of professionalism, accountability, and ethical conduct, reinforcing stakeholder trust and inspiring confidence across management and staff.

The leadership changes at Lovonus Microfinance Bank and the Lovonus Group of Companies signal a continued focus on operational excellence, sustainable growth, and the creation of robust financial solutions aimed at empowering customers and communities.
