Signature Bank has announced the appointment of Alex Alozie as its new Deputy Managing Director, a move that signals a renewed push to strengthen executive leadership and accelerate the bank’s growth strategy.

Alozie joins the lender with more than 20 years of senior-level experience across banking operations, digital transformation, retail banking and business development. His career spans leadership roles at top-tier financial institutions, including Diamond Bank, Access Bank, and United Bank for Africa, where he played key roles in operational restructuring and large-scale business expansion.

Brandspur Banking News Desk reports that the appointment aligns with Signature Bank’s ongoing repositioning agenda, which places strong emphasis on technology-driven service delivery, operational efficiency and sustainable profitability. The bank is said to be reinforcing its leadership structure to compete more effectively in Nigeria’s increasingly digital and customer-focused banking environment.

Alozie is widely regarded for combining technology innovation with disciplined execution. Over the course of his career, he has overseen complex process optimisation initiatives, driven cost efficiencies and scaled banking portfolios in highly competitive markets. His previous positions include Head of Bankwide Operations at Diamond Bank, Group Head of Digital and Centralised Operations at Access Bank, and Group Chief Operating Officer at UBA, where he also served as Executive Director for the North.

Commenting on the appointment, the Chairman of Signature Bank, Tijjani M. Borodo, described Alozie’s entry into the management team as timely and strategic.
