Truecaller has recorded a major global milestone, surpassing 500 million users worldwide as it strengthens its position as a leading platform for secure and trusted communication. The achievement highlights the growing global demand for tools that help users identify spam, block fraud, and manage unwanted interactions across digital communication channels.
The company disclosed that its user base expanded significantly in 2025, adding over 50 million new users during the year. It also reported that more than 150 million of its users are located outside India, reflecting increasing international adoption driven by rising concerns over scam calls, phishing attempts, and unsolicited messages.
Truecaller further revealed that it crossed 4 million paying subscribers earlier in the year, indicating continued growth in its premium offerings and reinforcing its monetisation strategy alongside its expanding free user base.
Brandspur Brand News Desk notes that the milestone underscores the platform’s evolution from a caller identification tool into a broader digital trust ecosystem, widely used for verifying identities, reducing fraud risks, and enhancing everyday communication safety across mobile networks.
Speaking on the development, Truecaller’s Chief Executive Officer, Rishit Jhunjhunwala, described the milestone as a reflection of the increasing need for safer communication globally. He stated that users rely on the platform to navigate spam and scams, adding that the company remains committed to advancing its technology to protect users before, during, and after every interaction.
With over half a billion monthly users, Truecaller has grown into a widely adopted communication utility embedded in daily usage patterns, offering services that include caller identification, spam detection, and fraud prevention. The company emphasised that its platform now functions as a trust layer within the global communication ecosystem.
Despite its large user base, Truecaller maintains a relatively lean operational structure, with a workforce of about 470 employees supporting its global operations. The company also indicated that it will continue to disclose updates on monthly and daily active users in its quarterly financial reports.
Truecaller, headquartered in Stockholm and listed on Nasdaq Stockholm since 2021, stated that it has recorded over one billion downloads since inception and identified tens of billions of spam and fraud calls in recent years, reinforcing its role in addressing communication security challenges worldwide.
