Tetra Pak Invests €60m To Scale Paper-based Barrier Technology

Tetra Pak has commenced construction of a new Product Development Center expansion at its North American headquarters in Denton, Texas, United States, in a move aimed at strengthening its innovation capabilities and supporting faster product commercialisation.

The expanded facility is expected to open in the first quarter of 2027 and will significantly enhance the company’s ability to support clients across the entire product development process, from early-stage concept creation and formulation to large-scale production and market readiness.

Brandspur Brand News reports that the development will include approximately 12,000 square feet dedicated to product development, alongside an additional 3,000 square feet Customer Innovation Center designed to facilitate collaboration between Tetra Pak and its customers on new product solutions.

The upgraded hub will integrate processing, packaging, testing, and scaling functions within a single location, effectively doubling the site’s production capacity while introducing a more streamlined, end-to-end development model for manufacturers.

The facility is also expected to support rapid prototyping and product optimisation, enabling food and beverage companies to respond more efficiently to evolving consumer demands across categories such as functional beverages, plant-based products, and premium offerings.

Speaking on the expansion, Seth Teply highlighted that the investment reflects the company’s commitment to helping brands accelerate innovation and reduce time-to-market while navigating complex development challenges.

The project is also anticipated to contribute to local economic activity in Denton through job creation and increased business engagement, reinforcing the region’s position as a key hub for food and beverage innovation in North America.
