Lucozade has restructured its creative agency lineup by appointing sports marketing agency Dark Horses to oversee its masterbrand account, signalling a renewed marketing strategy as the beverage brand prepares to mark its centenary.
The appointment concludes a seven-year relationship with Adam & Eve, which previously managed the account through changes in agency ownership. While the lead creative responsibilities will move to Dark Horses, We Are Social will continue to manage Lucozade’s social media operations to ensure continuity across its digital channels.
The agency overhaul reflects Lucozade’s broader ambition to strengthen its position in the competitive sports drinks market by placing greater emphasis on sports culture, fan engagement and athlete-led storytelling, Brandspur Brand News reports.
The new strategy is expected to support the brand’s efforts to build stronger emotional connections with consumers as competition intensifies among global sports beverage companies investing heavily in sponsorships, major sporting events and high-profile ambassadors.
Lucozade has expanded its sporting credentials in recent years through partnerships with football star Jude Bellingham and high-impact brand activations designed to engage younger audiences. Those campaigns have helped reinforce the brand’s presence across football and wider sports entertainment platforms.
With its 100th anniversary approaching, Lucozade aims to combine its long-standing heritage with a more culturally relevant marketing approach capable of sustaining consumer interest beyond the centenary celebrations.
Company executives said the appointment aligns with Lucozade’s long-term vision of remaining relevant to modern sports and lifestyle audiences while preserving the legacy that has made the brand a household name for generations. Dark Horses also expressed confidence that the partnership will help shape the next phase of the brand’s growth by building on its established reputation and strong consumer recognition.
The new collaboration is expected to drive more sports-focused campaigns, immersive fan experiences and integrated marketing initiatives as Lucozade strengthens its competitive positioning in the evolving global beverage market.
