inDrive has introduced free parcel coverage of up to ₦50,000 for eligible business users of its Courier service in Nigeria, offering protection against loss or damage during transit and addressing a key financial risk for entrepreneurs relying on last-mile deliveries.

The new feature covers qualifying parcels at no additional cost and allows affected users to seek refunds when their shipments are lost or damaged while being transported. Customers experiencing a delivery problem are required to contact inDrive Customer Support through the app within 48 hours of the parcel being picked up.

Brandspur Brand News reports that the coverage is integrated into the existing inDrive.Courier service, which already provides features including real-time parcel tracking, courier verification and delivery links that can be shared with recipients.

Business users can also choose between motorcycles and cars depending on the size of their parcels, select couriers based on ratings, negotiate delivery fares and organise routes where several stops are required. A dedicated parcel coverage banner appears on eligible order forms and during active deliveries.

Where a parcel is lost or damaged, users can initiate a claim through the Customer Support function on the inDrive app. Claims are typically reviewed within three to seven days, while refunds are expected within 14 days for eligible claims where the user provides the required bank details, subject to the ₦50,000 coverage limit.

The company has also highlighted courier verification as part of its delivery safety measures. Couriers undergo identity checks, including validation of identification documents through government databases and driver’s licence verification where applicable.

For small businesses, the protection could help reduce the financial exposure associated with sending goods to customers through third-party delivery services. A damaged or missing order can involve not only the immediate value of the product but also disruption to customer relationships and fulfilment.

Timothy Oladimeji, Country Manager of inDrive Nigeria, said the initiative was designed around concerns businesses face when depending on courier services, stressing that protection against transit losses could help strengthen confidence in last-mile delivery.

The free parcel coverage is available to eligible inDrive.Courier business users in Nigeria, extending the platform’s existing delivery tools with a financial protection feature for parcels in transit.
