Interswitch is taking its TechConnect industry engagement series to four Nigerian cities, with this year’s edition focused on building financial infrastructure that can adapt to changing technology, customer expectations and business needs.
The sixth edition, themed “Built for What’s Next: Designing Adaptive Financial Infrastructure for a Dynamic Market”, begins in Owerri, Imo State, on September 24 before moving to Abuja, Ibadan and Lagos in October.
The programme will bring together stakeholders from government, financial services, technology and the wider business community to examine issues including digital transformation, interoperability, cybersecurity, resilience and data protection. Brandspur Banking News Desk reports that Interswitch sees adaptable infrastructure as increasingly important as organisations rely more heavily on digital services.
The Owerri event at Protea Hotel will feature a keynote address, fireside chat, panel discussion and product demonstrations. Justice Remigius Okoye, Executive Chairman of the Imo State Internal Revenue Service, is expected to deliver the keynote.
His participation comes as the state revenue agency continues to introduce digital tools into its operations, including electronic revenue notices and online vehicle documentation services. His presentation will focus on how adaptable financial infrastructure can support institutions and improve service delivery.
A key discussion will examine the role of public-private partnerships in advancing digital transformation. Panellists will include Dr Kalu Nnachi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zikora Microfinance Bank; Celestine Obiosa Uzor, Managing Director of Premise2Cloud ICT Solutions; Emmanuel Alozie of the Abia State Internal Revenue Service; and Interswitch Vice President, Business Innovation and Growth, Tyoyila Aga.
Another conversation will consider the roles of government, businesses and skilled professionals in developing Nigeria’s digital economy. Anambra State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Nomso Ebonwu, and Interswitch Chief Sales Officer, Robinta Aluyi, are expected to participate in the session.
The discussions come as financial institutions, fintech companies, government agencies and businesses increasingly operate across multiple digital systems. Ensuring that those systems can communicate with one another while remaining secure and reliable has become an important consideration for organisations expanding their digital services.
Interswitch will also demonstrate payment and digital commerce products during the programme, extending the conversation beyond individual transactions to the infrastructure supporting digital financial services.
After the Owerri event, TechConnect 6.0 is scheduled for Abuja on October 8, Ibadan on October 22 and Lagos on October 27.
The four-city programme is designed to give stakeholders in different markets an opportunity to share experiences around the infrastructure challenges associated with digital finance and the wider transition to digitally delivered services.
