Stagwell Launches Global Media Agency Across 50 Markets to Drive AI-Powered Advertising Growth

Global marketing group Stagwell has launched Stagwell Media, a new international agency designed to help brands navigate an increasingly fragmented advertising market through integrated media services, advanced technology and more flexible operating models.

The agency builds on the capabilities of Assembly, adding a wider structure that brings together media planning, digital expertise, commerce solutions and technology. Stagwell said the move responds to growing pressure on brands to reach audiences across multiple platforms while demonstrating clearer business results from their marketing investments.

Brandspur Brand News reports that the launch reflects a broader shift in the media industry, where agencies are being challenged to connect audience insights, creative execution and performance measurement rather than manage them as separate functions. Stagwell Media is positioning itself around that need, with operations spanning more than 50 markets.

At the centre of the new agency’s approach is Machine OS, Stagwell’s agentic technology platform, developed to help media specialists manage the growing complexity of audience discovery, engagement, recommendations and campaign activation. The company expects the technology to help teams respond more quickly to changes in consumer behaviour and the wider media environment.

Stagwell chairman and chief executive Mark Penn said the traditional media agency model was no longer suited to the demands of modern marketing. The new operation, he indicated, is intended to combine technological capability with media expertise and greater operational agility.

Slavi Samardzija, Stagwell’s global chair of Media and Commerce, said brands increasingly needed to move quickly, coordinate customer touchpoints and use technology to manage a more complicated marketing landscape. Liz Rutgersson, chief executive of Stagwell Media, said the agency would bring talent and integrated capabilities closer to clients’ business objectives.

Rutgersson will continue to lead the agency across the United States and global operations, supported by a regional leadership team covering Asia-Pacific, Europe, India and the Middle East and North Africa. Connie Chan will lead Asia-Pacific, Bridget Hopkins Europe, Alap Ghosh India and Ravi Rao the Middle East and North Africa. Kacper Klos will serve as global chief executive of Digital Commerce in Poland.

Stagwell Media has identified four priorities for its operating model: building teams around client ambitions, deploying technology tailored to media specialists, bringing creativity and innovation closer to media execution, and developing commercial arrangements that better reflect individual clients’ growth goals.

Its services will draw on solutions from The Marketing Cloud and the Stagwell Media Platform, including The Media Machine, Stagwell Search+ and Stagwell Curate. The agency will also combine data and commerce expertise with support from other businesses in Stagwell’s Media and Commerce division, including Crispin, GALE, Goodstuff, Locaria and Stagwell Owned Media.

The company already serves major international clients, including Lenovo, DP World, Mastercard and Procter & Gamble. The new structure is intended to strengthen its ability to coordinate services across markets while responding to changing audience habits and developments in digital advertising.

For advertisers operating in Nigeria and other markets, the launch highlights the growing emphasis on integrated media strategies, technology and demonstrable campaign performance. However, Stagwell has not outlined specific changes to its Nigerian operations or announced locally targeted initiatives as part of the launch.

As competition intensifies across digital platforms and traditional media channels, Stagwell is betting that a more connected agency model will help brands manage complexity and link media activity more closely to commercial objectives.
