Guinness Nigeria Awards ₦150m Toyota Land Cruiser Prado to Open For More Promo Winner

Guinness Nigeria Plc has presented a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado valued at ₦150 million to Queen Thompson, the grand prize winner of its “Open For More” consumer promotion, which rewarded 1,075 Nigerians over 10 weeks.

The vehicle was handed over to Thompson at the company’s headquarters in Ogba, Lagos, by Guinness Nigeria’s managing director and chief executive officer, Girish Sharma, following the conclusion of the nationwide campaign.

Brandspur Brand News reports that the promotion, launched on July 18, 2026, offered cash rewards to 1,075 participants, with Thompson emerging as the recipient of the grand prize. The initiative was conducted under the supervision of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), which oversaw the promotion’s terms, winner selection and prize distribution.

Under the reward structure, 1,000 consumers received ₦100,000 each, while another 75 winners collected ₦1 million apiece. Thompson’s Toyota SUV was the campaign’s top prize.

Sharma said the company was particularly pleased that a woman emerged as the overall winner, adding that the result reflected changing consumer patterns among Guinness drinkers. He noted that the brand’s customer base now included an equal share of men and women.

Mayor Esiaba, head of beer at Guinness Nigeria, said the promotion was designed to recognise customers who continue to choose Guinness Foreign Extra Stout. The company said it would continue developing consumer experiences that reward loyalty to the brand.

Ifeoluwapo Odedere, senior brand manager at Guinness, also highlighted the range of prizes awarded during the campaign, from the cash rewards to the luxury vehicle.

For Thompson, the win came as a surprise. She said she initially doubted the notification because she had been defrauded twice earlier in the year. She expressed gratitude to the company after receiving confirmation that she had won the vehicle.

Guinness Nigeria said the promotion was part of its efforts to strengthen relationships with consumers through rewards and brand engagement, with regulatory oversight intended to promote transparency throughout the process.
