AXA Mansard Health has emerged Health Insurance Company of the Year at the Marketing Edge Awards, earning recognition for its work in Nigeria’s health insurance market.
The award comes amid concerns about the cost of medical care and the financial strain households face when paying for healthcare. Health insurance offers a way for individuals and organisations to plan for medical expenses rather than shoulder the full cost when treatment becomes necessary.
Brandspur Brand News reports that the recognition highlights AXA Mansard Health’s efforts to widen access to healthcare protection for individuals, families and businesses.
The company’s chief executive officer, Tope Adeniyi, said health insurance could help reduce the financial barriers that prevent people from seeking medical attention.
Adeniyi said access to healthcare should not depend entirely on whether a person could afford to pay medical bills at the point of need. He also called for insurance solutions that are accessible, affordable and suited to the needs of Nigerians.
He said AXA Mansard Health remained focused on developing services to help individuals and organisations manage their healthcare needs and access medical services.
The award, he added, represented a milestone for the company, although its broader objective remained helping more Nigerians obtain essential healthcare without facing overwhelming financial pressure.
AXA Mansard Health’s Chief Marketing Officer, Adebola Surakat, also acknowledged the role of employees and healthcare partners in delivering services to customers.
Surakat said the recognition would encourage the company to continue improving access to healthcare protection and the quality of service available to its enrollees.
The Marketing Edge Awards is organised by Marketing Edge, a Nigerian marketing communications publication, to recognise achievements across advertising, brand communications, marketing and related sectors.
For Nigerians navigating rising healthcare expenses, the importance of health insurance extends beyond industry recognition. The ability to access medical services without having to meet the entire cost upfront remains a central consideration in healthcare planning for households and businesses.
