AXA Mansard Insurance Announces the Resignation of Mr. Tosin Runsewe As Executive Director

AXA Mansard Insurance Plc. (the Company) wishes to notify The Nigerian Stock Exchange (The Exchange), esteemed shareholders, stakeholders and the public of the resignation of Mr Tosin Runsewe as Executive Director effective January 31, 2020, to pursue his other ambitions outside the group. The resignation has been accepted by the Board.

In view of this change, the Company has proposed the appointment of 2 new Executive Directors to the Board subject to regulatory approval:

  1. Rashidat Adebisi is a graduate of Business Accounting, Associate Member of the Association of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ACA) as well as Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute, London. She has experience in different areas of the financial services industry ranging from Customer Service, Financial Advisory, Accounting to Audit Services with over 19 years of work experience. She is currently the Head of Distribution
    where she has been responsible for the Company’s delivery on its retail strategy. Prior to this, she was CFO for 6 years strengthening finance, HR and procurement. In addition, she is well respected in the insurance industry being the past Chairperson of the Accounting Technical Committee of the Nigerian Insurers Association. She joined AXA Mansard in 2005.
  2. Tope Adeniyi is a graduate of Computer Science and an Associate Member of Chartered Insurance Institute, London. Tope’s career spans over 19 years from the information management sector, manufacturing to financial services. He currently heads the Health insurance business, which is the market leader in revenues and profitability. Prior to this, Tope was responsible for AXA Mansard’s Operations and Technology where he was instrumental in the set-up of the enterprise architecture as well as the vast processing capabilities built for the retail business. He joined AXA Mansard in 2008.

Artesyn Embedded Power Announces High Efficiency 1300-Watt Quarter-brick with Digital Control for Telecom and Compute Equipment

HONG KONG, CHINA – Media OutReach – 8 January
2020 – Artesyn
Embedded Power, an Advanced Energy (Nasdaq: AEIS) company, today announced
the BDQ1300, a new 1300 watt quarter-brick dc-dc converter, designed to provide
the highest efficiency on-board 12V output for telecom, computing and server
applications, with optional digital control. With efficiency rated over 97
percent, the BDQ1300 is designed as a voltage source for non-isolated
point-of-load converters. It can accept an input voltage range from 40 to 60
volts, making it ideal for 48-volt data center and communications network
equipment.

Rated for up to 110 amps, the Artesyn BDQ1300 is a fully isolated dc-dc converter,
which can be applied with separate input and output ground connections. This isolation
means that EMI management and any possible fault condition can be contained within
the primary side of the converter. The modules use a standard high-current quarter-brick
pin-out. A pair of power pins are provided for the positive output and ground
connections to enable the current to be conducted to the host PCB. Conduction
losses from the module are minimized using large diameter pins.

“The
BDQ1300 has been designed to primarily support two power-conversion
architectures,” said Andy Brown, director of technical marketing dc-dc for
Artesyn Embedded Power. “Either the conventional and widely used ‘two-stage’
conversion architecture network, where the BDQ1300 only provides power to
non-isolated, 12V input point-of-load converters such as Artesyn’s LGA80D or LGA50D families; or the module can
also be used to support a hybrid conversion architecture. This is where some of
the application’s power is converted with 48 V to low-voltage ‘direct
conversion’ products, such as those being developed by members of the Power Stamp Alliance, and — operating alongside
this direct conversion network — a conventional two-stage conversion network.”

The module can operate between minus 40 degrees Celsius and
85 degrees Celsius with air cooling, and it offers options for base plate
cooling.

The BDQ1300
is available without the four-pin PMBus connection, which gives a solution of
maximum conversion performance with minimum control complexity. The four-pin PMBus
header provides standard PMBus control and monitoring functions such as voltage
and current monitoring, start-up and shutdown control, protection feature warning
and shutdown limits, temperature monitoring functions and revision-control
information.

and Los Angeles singer, songwriter and producer Tinashe who will be
performing in Singapore for the first time. The 26-year old recording artiste
recently released her third album, Songs For You — following her

Love’. Chinese-born U.S.-based rapper Bohan Phoenix will also

its carbon neutrality goal as soon as possible, Bosch, in partnership with
NEFIN, the bespoke solar developer, announced the completion of its first solar
photovoltaic project at its Nanjing plant of Bosch Automotive Aftermarket (China) Co., Ltd.
Government representatives including Mr. Tao Lei, Deputy Director of the
Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, Mr. Liu
Hongwen, Member of the Nanjing Bureau of Commerce Party Committee and Deputy
Director General of the Nanjing Investment Promotion Bureau, Mr. Shen Yinlong,
Deputy Director of Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone, Mr. Tao
Xiaojun, General Manager of State Grid Nanjing Power Supply Company, also
management of Bosch Group including Dr. Frank
Scheidemantel, Regional President APAC of Bosch Global
Business Services and Member of the
Board of Bosch China, other VIP guests
and media participated in the event that took place on 8 January 2020.

 

The Nanjing project is, by-far, the largest solar project by Bosch
globally. The project is divided into two phases. With completion of the first
phase, 17,422 solar modules, would be installed on available carparks and
ground surface, approximately the size of 100,000 square meters in total. The
first phase is expertly engineered to produce an estimated 7,700,000 kWh clean
solar energy per annum and reduce carbon emission by 8,000 tones. Leveraging on the robust mounting structure, the ground
mounted solar panels can easily be redeployed to the rooftops of buildings in
Bosch in the future. With construction started by 1st
August 2019, the first phase was completed within five months, which is
exceptionally short compared to industry standard. With the full system up and
running, it will be able to generate an installed capacity of over 10,680,000
kWh, worth over a million-dollar saving for the company.  

 

Climate change has created much challenges for the world in recent
years. In view of this, all nations are aggressively seeking ways to embrace
cleaner and greener sustainable solutions for the long run. China has also
launched a series of carbon neutrality measures to combat with the challenges.
According to Mr. Frank Meyer, Senior Vice President (AA/MFG-AP) and PM of Bosch Automotive Aftermarket
(China) Co., Ltd. Nanjing Plant, “Bosch aims to be
carbon-neutral by 2020. It will be the one of the first batch of multinational
companies to achieve this ambitious goal. This Nanjing solar photovoltaic
project is one of the most important steps taken towards this goal.” This Nanjing solar project, in collaboration with NEFIN, will be a
showcase for other Bosch plants around the world. NEFIN is a world-renowned

New Ride-hailing App, Solride Launches in Nigeria

Solride, a new ride-hailing service has been launched in Lagos, Nigeria to riders access to different modes of transportation (salon cars, motorcycles, tricycles, and SUVs), ride scheduling and rental as well as detailed maps.

According to a press statement, Solride will offer a unique combination of different vehicles, delivering endless possibilities and revolutionizing the concept of transportation in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa.

Henry Adesegha, CEO of Solchos Kefani said the company stands out with some strong and unique innovation that connects directly to consumer needs given that people will be able to switch from one mode of transportation to another without the hassle of switching ride-hailing platforms.

Solride looks to attract drivers with its unique driver-controlled price mechanism algorithm that will see the drivers individually control price during regular, peak and off-peak business hours.

Instead of employing dynamic pricing, where prices generically increase or decrease based on demand, Solride empowers individual drivers to regulate prices themselves within a stipulated range.

Both riders and drivers are able to use digital channels integrated into the app to make payments where applicable. And riders also get to know upfront how much they have to pay for their trip without the fear of price change after the start of the trip.

In addition, the company plans to incentivize rides by rewarding drivers who drive safely. Drivers who receive good reviews of their rides will also get the opportunity to earn additional revenue from other business streams of the company as ad hoc shareholders.

The CEO also disclosed an intention to expand to other markets in Africa by the end of the first quarter of this year. “We’re aiming to blitzscale, grow exponentially and expand to different cities in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda by the first quarter of 2020,” said Adesegha.
