It was a beehive of activity as scores of residents thronged Oshodi Business Unit and Egbeda Undertaking of Ikeja Electric-Nigeria’s largest power distribution company. The residents who came to participate in the free medical outreach organized by Ikeja Electric in partnership with XT Monitor and US Medical Mission Group, responded to the call to come for free treatment of diabetes, hypertension and other non-communicable diseases.

In his statement, Head Corporate Communications Ikeja Electric, said “We are really big on giving back to the Community. The wellness of those we serve impacts us directly. If they are sick and unable to fend for themselves because of ailments, we all lose. Look around you, these residents are from Ejigbo, Oshodi, Isolo, Jakande, Okota and other areas around and some are here from even more further away.”

“Healthcare doesn’t come cheap these days and so we are proud to partner with XT Monitor and our friends from the US Medical Mission to bridge that gap in our own little way,” He concluded.

XT Monitors Managing Director, Kayode Adeoti, praised Ikeja Electric for showing concern about the health of its customers. Adeoti said: “There’s a lot of apathy between consumers and energy distribution companies. So, I believe this outreach was timely. The company cares about the health of its consumers, especially landlords and tenants, who fall between the age bracket of the people who suffer diabetes and hypertension.

Mrs. Abigail a resident of Isolo who participated in the outreach noted that she had been diagnosed with hypertension but could not afford the drugs prescribed for her. She praised Ikeja Electric for the treatment she had just received while proudly displaying medication dispensed to her.

Ikeja Electric continues to engage in various community and social activities that benefit residents within her network.
