The 23rd edition of the Executive Masters of Business Administration (EMBA 23) programme commenced on Monday, January 15, 2018, with over 75 students in attendance. The class comprised of persons from various sectors of the Nigerian economy, such as Finance, Health, Oil & Gas, Education, Consulting, amongst others. They all expressed their excitement and high expectations as regards the programme.
Vivian Chidueme, who works at Rifugio Communications expects to receive the necessary knowledge to ensure her development as a business manager. “The experience within the last week has been rather interesting; I love the environment and its conductivity for learning. LBS was my main choice because of its standards, and I expect to leave here with knowledge applicable to my career and the skills necessary to operate at the optimum level.”
Nnamdi Ugwuoke, who works with Alcon Nigeria Limited, hopes to sharpen his managerial and business skills. “For me, LBS is one of the best business schools in Africa. From my research, I discovered they ensure quality in all aspects. LBS has acceptable standards applicable everywhere, especially in Nigeria, and since I am going to be applying my knowledge here, I might as well go for the best around, hence my choice.
So far, the experience has been mind-blowing, interactive and enlightening. At the end of the programme, I expect to get the best and improve my managerial, business and people-relation skills and view the world and the African economy from a different perspective.”
Omoghene Olobia, who works at Ariosh Limited, expects to benefit from the group learning and case study method, to ensure an edge in her career. “I chose LBS because I wanted somewhere close to my home and workplace; I also want to enjoy the benefits of group learning and interacting with others. So far, I have found the experience challenging, but I believe the task is worth it. At the end of it all, I am sure that I would gain a lot that would be highly beneficial to my career.”
Ayo Odunami, who works for Rainbow Educational Services Limited, expects to gain knowledge that would improve his business skills. “I chose LBS because I was looking for a business school with international standards and in proximity to where I live. So far, the experience has been filled with work but the facilities and faculty are fantastic, and my classmates are great. At the end of the programme, I expect to gain a lot of knowledge and insight to managing businesses – growing the one I have and probably start another one.”
