While some Nigerians continue to chastise the Nigerian movie industry known as Nollywood, over the kind of similar scripts they continue to churn out, few still have hopes in that there are some producers who understand their onions when it comes to preparing a good movie script.

Nollywood actress, Goodness Usman, is seriously ensuring that she uses her entertainment prowess to ensure that she helps make a change in the Yoruba movie industry both in production and in scripting as she recently held a private screening of her latest movie, ‘Latana’.

At the private screening, she explained, “A lot of students, while in schools, learn fashion designing but because they want to make quick money, they don’t want to use those skills. I’m trying to tell the youths out there to stop looking for quick money”.

“They should make do with what they have now and keep making progress daily, which will lead to growth. Stop looking for sudden wealth. It is not going to work”.

‘Latana’, is a movie that talks about marriage and the challenges that comes with it, filled with deceits and exposing those we call friends that come into our homes and turning things the other way around.

The filmmaker explained that ‘Latana’ is a movie everyone in the society could relate with because of the messages it contains and would be available for view online soon.

The Director of the movie, Muhydeen Sasiliu Ayinde, said, “I’m a director that loves to explore something new. Seeing a new writer is what I have always been looking forward to because we need ideas in Nollywood. We need to explore other angles and delve into other areas we have not treated. We cannot be giving people the same storyline to change the old ways.”

‘Latana’ is directed by Muhydeen Sasiliu Ayinde, and stars the likes of Gabriel Afolayan, Femi Olasebikan, Jumoke Odetola, Eniola Afeez, Dele Michael, Taiwo Ibikunle and others.
