VSF Task Force on Covid-19 Donates Food and Non Food Items to Taraba State Government

The TY Danjuma COVID-19 task force on victims support funds today donated items worth 100million naira to the Taraba State Government.

This was disclosed during a visit by the team to Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku at the Government House Chambers, Jalingo.

The team leader, Dr Toyosi Agunsoji in her statement during the notification visit said Governor Darius is not just a leader who speaks but a leader who cares for his people practically.

She explained that Gen. TY Danjuma (Rtd) would have loved to be in the state himself but could not due to schedules beyond his control. She said they are in the state to provide support for the already done jobs with respect to COVID-19 by the Government of Taraba State.

Dr Toyosi said the program was flagged in Abuja and their next point was Taraba after reaching Maiduguri and providing over 6000 households with foods and medical equipment, Damaturu with over 2000 households and now they are in Taraba to provide over 3,828 households with items which include, rice, maize, oils, drugs, personal medical equipment such as face mask, alcohol-based hand sanitizers, hand washing soaps in thousands, details, etc.

She said they will be giving out food and non-food items worth over 100million naira capturing the IDPs camp in high percentage.

Dr Toyosi acknowledged the fact that they have seen the performance of Taraba State Government in tackling the spread of COVID-19 and are obligated to support the state and that they are ready to step in for a bigger partnership with the State Government soon as COVID-19 is over.

The Governor in his response welcomed the TY Danjuma COVID-19 task force victims support fund team on behalf of Taraba State Government.

He said TY Danjuma is a household name, a man who is highly respected in Taraba and a proud son of the nation.

Gov. Ishaku said he was indeed glad that the General is once again in the state to stretch his arm of help to the state not only on COVID-19 but also on their internal crisis.

The Governor said it is on records that Taraba was the first state to announce a lockdown even when a lot of people criticised him but time has indeed proved him right

He said whatever measures he will put in place to see that this Pandemic doesn’t get into this state he will.

The Governor assured the team that everything is given to the state for the citizens will surely reach the entire people down to the remote area and that he will make sure that proven people are assigned to undertake the assignment of distribution.

Governor Ishaku appreciated them for coming and assured them of his support in making sure that the aim is fully achieved.
